Coronavirus : where to get official information for the Swiss situation ?

You plan a project or a trip to Switzerland ? Get the official information to know what the rules in Switzerland are.

Switzerland is gradually easing the measures in place due to Coronavirus situation. The measures are taken step by step. The next deadline for the new measures to be taken into account is the 11th of May. So what will happen ?

In summary, within the country:  

  • As mentioned on the official website, as from May 11 "Classroom teaching may again take place in primary and lower secondary schools. Shops, markets, museums, libraries and restaurants may also reopen under strict compliance with precautionary measures".
  • Shops and restaurants will also be able to open again in accordance to a set of precautionary measures (social distance, hygiene, etc). The same will apply to museums and libraries.
  • All events of more than 1500 people are cancelled until end of August 2020.

Concerning boarders:
All persons with the exception of those from the Principality of Liechtenstein will be refused entry to Switzerland. There are some exceptions, for example if you work in Switzerland. From 11 May, gradual easing is envisaged : Swiss and EU citizens, family reunification will become possible again in Switzerland. Border controls will however remain in place.
