Data protection

Security is our top priority

The DOJ respects the privacy of the users of this website. The DOJ complies with the applicable data protection laws and processes personal data solely for the purposes for which the data was transmitted. These data protection provisions will be adapted, supplemented or amended periodically. The current, retrievable version applies each time the website is accessed.

Type of data collected

When visiting this website, statistical visitor data is collected on which parts of the website are visited particularly frequently. For example, data regarding the browser and operating system used by the user and other connection data may be collected, regardless of whether or not this data needs to be collected for our or other purposes. In this context, it is sometimes necessary to use cookies. The data collected is either not personally identifiable or is sufficiently anonymised so that it cannot be traced back to a particular person.

The DOJ does not automatically collect personal data from users, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers or email addresses. An exception to this is information that users voluntarily transmit to the DOJ by filling out online forms or contacting the DOJ in some other way via the website.

Use of data

Voluntarily submitted data may be used to improve the website and provide individualized support to users. This includes, among other things, sending information, offers or notifications relating to the DOJ's products or services.

Disclosure of data

The DOJ may use personal data in accordance with this privacy policy. Beyond that, personal data will not be disclosed to third parties. This does not apply if users have consented to the disclosure of data to companies that are not affiliated with the DOJ or if the DOJ is legally, officially or judicially obliged to do so. In addition, service providers may be involved to assist the DOJ in data processing, website administration or in other ways, as well as in providing the products and services requested by users. These third parties are obliged to maintain the same level of security and data protection as the DOJ.

Social media

The DOJ may use social media plugins on its website, e.g. from Meta or X. These platforms have their own data protection rules over which the DOJ has no influence. If the user does not want any of these plugins to be loaded, it is recommended that they log out of the corresponding social media service. Furthermore, various browsers can be set or supplemented with add-ons so that the social media plugins are not loaded.

Data security

Unfortunately, the transmission of data via the internet is not completely secure. The DOJ works with service providers and internet providers that take appropriate technical and organisational security precautions to protect users' personal data. All data exchanged with this website is encrypted using an SSL certificate. However, the DOJ cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted by users. All data transfers are therefore at the user's own risk.

Rights of information, revocation and deletion

Of course, users are free to inform the DOJ at any time – for example in an e-mail – that they do not want their personal data to be used to contact them in the future. Participation in special services offered by this website, such as a newsletter service, can also be revoked at any time. In addition, there is the option of obtaining information on the processing of the data, requesting a copy of the personal data collected via this website or requesting the deletion of all stored personal data. Please send any such requests in writing to the umbrella organisation for open child and youth work in Switzerland (DOJ), Pavillonweg 3, 3012 Bern or to welcome(at)doj.ch.

Final provisions

If any individual provisions or parts of these data protection provisions prove to be void or ineffective, the validity of the remaining data protection provisions shall not be affected.
